These questions were posted on a WLS forum I belong to.
Thought I would post my answers here also.
How do you feel about wls as a tool for weight loss?
I think its an amazing tool. Its no different then finding any other tool that works for you. This is the tool that worked for me. It is always there when I need it. It never leaves me. I am finally a success at losing and keeping off the weight thanks to my WLS tool.
Do you feel like it helped you lose weight?
LOL DUH. 259lbs lost so far and I would have to say that it IS the reason I lost the weight AND will keep it off.
Could you have lost the weight and kept it off any other way?
Obviously not. I have gained and lost 100’s of pounds over the years. Didn’t matter how successful the diet was, once the diet was over, back came the weight. The falling off and not being able to get back on problems that come with regular dieting would always get me. This doesn’t happen to me any more. I have lost the weight and this time I am keeping it off, EASILY!
Did it help you maintain your weight loss?
So far so good! It works when I need it. Helps me when I need it. I have easily maintained my current weight for the last couple of months. This is with little working out and eating what I want (of course just in much smaller quantities). I am a success and will be able to stay a success because of my tool. It gives me that fighting chance that I never had before. There is no falling off this wagon. Dieting was always hard work, so is this. But at least with this my hard work is paying off for good.
If you had a friend who was thinking about doing it, would you encourage or discourage them from going through with it?
Yes and no. I do not recommend WLS. BUT if my friend came to me and wanted to know more about it I would answer any questions I could. Would I tell her she should have it? NO WAY! She has to make that choice herself. This is for life. This is not a diet you can just quit when you are tired of it. You have to be committed to it forever. That means a lot of dedication. Its truly the last resort, not the quick way to lose weight and be done with it. There is a lot of work but so worth it!

Other things going on:
Farmers Market - Last weekend was the first Farmers Market of the season. It was so fun. I got beets ( been peeing red for 2 days AHHAHAA but they are so good!! I wish I had bought more). Radishes, dinner rolls, green onions, ( that Joshua inhailed. Was so fresh and good). I cant wait to go this Saturday. It got hot though so will try and get there earlier so I can be home before the heat sets in.
-
Billings WLS Meet Ups - These have been a blast. We had 10 people at the last one. Not bad, considering it wasnt to long ago it was just Tyna and I. Will be fun to see who shows up on Wed.

Spent the day in the pool yesterday. Been going up to the lake and playing a lot. Nice to get out of the house. But DANG this heat is something. 95 yesterday. 96 today etc.. YUCK! My garden is growing. Not great but growing lol. I have tomatoes coming out my ears. Hope they actually ripen. There are tons of blooms on the cucumbers but its not doing much nore is the peppers. I did see 1 baby plant so maybe just maybe I will get one out of the 4 plants I planted lol. Mostly I just want Joshua to see how it all works. Joshua’s sunflower garden has been the BEST!! Most are over 6 feet tall and they are stunning with lots of blooms. Going to for sure plant those again next year. We also have several pumpkins and a lot of Basil and Parsley and Thyme. Great fun for sure.
Welp thats about all the excitement going on.
Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL week!
